The Office of Community Relations Hosts La Traviata

The St. John’s University Office of Community Relations hosted the Riverside Opera Company’s performance of  Verdi’s La Traviata on Saturday, May 20, 2006. More than 250 Staten Islanders came to the Campus Center on the Staten Island Campus for a night at the opera.

This production, conducted by Maestro Alan Aurelia and directed by John DeBlass, was set in the 1960’s and featured choreography and costumes by Maria Zannieri.

“We are always pleased to provide these professional-quality concerts here at St. John’s,” said Community Relations Associate Kevin Ryan as he introduced the performers. “This kind of entertainment contributes to the local quality of life by promoting the arts, which is just another way we can be of service to the community.”

The Office of Community Relations will also host a Summer Concert on the Queens Campus on August 2nd.
