Do you use any web 2.0 technology in the classroom or for
research? Do you have a blog? How about a wiki? We are
constantly surrounded by technology and need to take the time to
explore the relationship between the academic and the
technological. The 2008 Faculty Technology Days will provide
an opportunity for the St. John’s University faculty community to
come together and celebrate the technology as we investigate
innovative methods of incorporating the tools into our teaching and
learning.
See the next generation of products such
as:
- STJ Collaboration Gateway - browser-based collaboration and
document-management platform
- Live@edu - online communications
and collaboration for everyone in our campus community
- Wimba - communications tools including podcasting
technology
- Turnitin - online plagiarism prevention
- Refworks - online bibliographic management program
These will be days of technology, innovation, toys, food and
fun. We will have academic and technical presentations as
well as fantastic door prizes such as iPods, cameras and other
electronic devices. Come and learn about the new trends in
technology and education with presentations from our faculty,
technologists, and the vendors that provide us with the technology
that we use every day.
Technology Days are free and open to all
faculty members.
