A little snow couldn’t dampen the mood at New York’s 252nd St.
Patrick’s Day Parade, and the St. John’s University community
enjoyed the festivities front and center.

Wearing red “St. John’s” sashes, alumni, friends,
students, faculty and staff marched up Fifth Avenue before an
estimated crowd of two million people.
“The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of our city’s greatest
traditions, and it’s only fitting that St. John’s is a proud annual
participant,” said Mark Andrews, Director of Alumni Relations.
“It’s great to see so many members of the St. John’s community
marching up Fifth Avenue. It shows how much pride we all have in
this great University.”
To kick off the day, guests gathered at St. Andrew’s Restaurant and
Bar to celebrate Irish culture and enjoy brunch with friends and
family. Later, as they marched, alumni and friends carried banners
and wore green St. John’s apparel, showing off their University
pride while getting into the spirit of this fun tradition.
