Campus Ministry

The V.I.T.A.L. (Vincentian Initiative to Advance Leadership) program celebrates four years of outstanding attainments. Once a month, 150-plus members meet to discuss leadership issues and examine the role values play in decisions we make.

Twenty students and campus ministers participate in The Vincent Experience. The Vincent Experience, which was in part planned and facilitated by campus ministers from St. John’s University, is an international gathering of young Vincentian leaders.

Campus Ministry, in collaboration with Student Life and the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, sponsors the first annual Sleep Out for the Homeless. Thirty students participate and experience the harsh reality of what it is like to be homeless, while helping those who actually are.

Team R.V. (Residence Village) is established to open Residence Hall students to weekend volunteer service opportunities. Students help improve facilities and serve people in the local community, instilling the Vincentian spirit and cultivating a sense of community among all participants.

Over 20 religious traditions are represented in the Residence Halls. The Interfaith Residence Hall Council and in-residence ministers continue to assist with effective communication, mutual respect and understanding among an increasingly diverse on-campus population.
