Vincentian Center for Church and Society

Sixteen Center Fellows (including five senior Fellows) representing all six schools and colleges collaborate in academic projects and activities such as lectures, seminars and colloquia. Topics range from war to mind and soul research. Over 200 students participate.

The Vincentian Center assists with teaching the Vincentian component of the Discover New York courses. A video is produced entitled The Mission Continues. It covers St. Vincent de Paul’s vision, spirituality and service in the St. John’s Vincentian tradition and is proving to be an invaluable teaching tool.

The annual Faculty Research Luncheon excites many faculty members to consider ways in which they can move more expeditiously incorporating Vincentian-based curriculum, specifically ways in which to advance the study of poverty and social justice.

The Vincentian Center and the Center For Migration Studies co-sponsor a colloquium on the theological and pastoral issue of global migration.

The Talbot Foundation for Education grant is awarded to underwrite a project addressing
