As we celebrate Founder’s Week 2007, we continue to increase our knowledge of the Vincentian heritage of St. John’s and to impart the Vincentian spirit and tradition into the 21st century. Our theme of “Solidarity” emphasizes our commitment to a global civilization.

“Forgiveness and Reconciliation: A Path to Global Solidarity”

Speaker
Immaculée Ilibagiza, author of Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust

As a college student, Immaculée lost most of her family, but survived the Rwandan genocide. She discovered the challenge of her faith and took the difficult path to forgive and rebuild. Recently seen on “60 Minutes”, “PBS TV” and featured in the NY Daily News, Immaculée has used her survival, her education and her talent to work with the United Nations Development Program, establish a foundation to assist the women and children of Rwanda and lecture throughout the world on the need for understanding and forgiveness as the means to peace.
