As we celebrate Founder’s Week 2008,
we look to deepen our understanding of the Vincentian mission of
St. John’s. This year we celebrate the unity of humankind and our
interdependence in the world. During the week, we seek to examine
our responsibility to love - “extending our hearts and minds to
nurture our own and the other’s good.”
Dinner and Presentation “Give and Grow
Rich: Success Strategies for Leaders”
with speaker Professor Joe Martin
Voted “Campus speaker of the Year” and Nominated “Lecturer of
the Year”, Professor Joe Martin has overcome many barriers in his
life. He is an “odds beater” from barely graduating from high
school (the first in his family), to being voted “Student of the
Year” out of 9,500 students on his college campus, becoming the
youngest professor at an accredited university in the State of
Florida and a successful entrepreneur.
You can either lead by example or excuses, but not both. In this
inspiring program, student leaders learn how to lead, motivate and
inspire others to go beyond borders by “serving.”
