St. John's Raises Papal Flag on the Queens Campus

"The raising of the papal flag marks a joyous and important time in the Catholic church. Pope Benedict XVI's visit to New York is a statement of him being in ecumenical and interfaith dialogue as well as solidifying his role as the leader of the Catholic Church," said Tori Migliore, Campus Director and Director for the Vincentian Volunteer Service. The papal flag was raised April 14 in front of St. Augustine Hall in honor of Pope Benedict XVI historic visit to the United States. The flag serves as the University's welcome to the Pope and will be raised for the duration of his visit.
