Tara Gilhooly is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at
St. John’s University. For the PARTNERS Continuum-of-Care
Project, Tara currently helps manage data and assess baseline
functioning of study participants. In addition, she works for
the LEAP program at St. John’s University, which carries out
research and treatment for emerging adults who have experienced
problems such as trauma, substance abuse, and academic
failure. Tara received her B.S. in Human Development from
Cornell University in 2006. At Cornell, her research was focused on
language and cognitive development of infants and toddlers.
Tara gained further research experience at the Sackler Institute
for Developmental Psychobiology where she was involved in research
with internationally adopted children and individuals with
autism. Her current research interests focus on the long-term
effects of stress and trauma, particularly in the context of
resilience factors.
