Samara Montilus has been a research assistant at the Child HELP
Partnership since 2011. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology
from St. John's University and is presently pursuing a Doctorate
degree in School Psychology, Bilingual Track. She has worked in
various school settings as a tutor, teacher's aide, mentor, and ESL
teacher for Haitian immigrants. After graduation, she will be
certified as a Haitian-Creole speaking school psychologist and
plans to serve Haitian communities in Brooklyn to help bridge gaps
between the community and the field of psychology. Samara's current
research interests include intervention and prevention efforts for
Teen Dating Violence, Intimate Partner Violence, and Domestic
Violence.
