Starting with our work with grieving families since the World
Trade Center attack of September 11th, 2001, Child HELP Partnership
has been focused on building programs related to traumatic loss and
bereavement. As a result, we are pleased to announce an
important addition to the comprehensive program offerings at our
Queens clinic. We have started to offer grief counseling groups for
children and caregivers. We are meeting with families now to
assess their needs and prepare them for the groups.
Please keep in mind that grief is an issue that can hurt
families in many ways. We are uniquely qualified to provide
education, support, and coping to these families.
Who’s invited? Children, ages
5-17, who had a loved one die, and their caregivers
What do we do?
Children and caregivers meet in separate groups
talk, learn how to handle anger and anxiety, and create
talk about parenting and grief, and how to help
learn that they are not alone
