Presentations fall into three main areas: Discover New York,
United Nations issues, teaching Business French.
Discover New York workshops were held for Languages Other Than
English (LOTE) Symposium organized by the Board of Education of the
City of New York, the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign
Languages (ACTFL) in January and November 2005 respectively, and in
March 2009, for the Foreign Language Educators of New Jersey
(FLENJ).
Prof. Paravazian has organized two Business French-related
Conferences for the American Association of Teachers of French in
1998, 2000 and has made numerous presentations on the subject, the
most recent of which is a workshop for the New York State
Association of Foreign Language Teachers (NYSAFLT) Summer Institute
in 2006.
She has organized and moderated a number of programs at the
United Nations, on subjects such as education and the empowerment
of girls, education for sustainable development with UNESCO
co-sponsorship in 2006 and 2007, and topics related to major United
Nations conferences. Most recently, presentations have combined
language and global issues as in “Sustainable French” and “The
Language of Human Rights” presented at the ACTFL Conferences in
2007 and 2008.
