Sviatoslav Richter, Maurizio
Pollini, Shura Cherkassky, Emil Gilels, Alfred Brendel -
these pianists have given recitals in Carnegie Hall and what was
then called Philharmonic Hall. These were monumental events that I
was lucky enough to experience.
