Regina Duthely presented Laying It Down! African American Students, Subversive Digital Discourse, and Respectability Politics in the Academic Sphere

Sophie Bell and M. Amanda Moulder participated in the Qualitative Research Network Forum.

Collin Craig presented "'We Learn How to Smile and Nod': Framing Critical Distance as African American Rhetorical Strategy".

Tara Roeder presented a workshop entitled "We Are Not Gatekeepers: Complicating Our Relationships To Student Texts" at the Conference on College Composition and Communication in March 2012 in St. Louis, MO.  She is also working on an edited collection entitled Critical Expressivist Theory and Practice in the College Composition Classroom with Prof. Roseanne Gatto.

Roseanne Gatto, Sean Murray, and Tara Roeder hosted a "Comp and Coffee" series on the Manhattan Campus during the Fall 2011 semester.  Topics have included What Is "Writing Studies"? presented by Dr. Derek Owens, Vice Provost, St. John's University and Why Max Van Manen Is Such Good Company for Compositionists presented by Dr. Sondra Perl of the CUNY Graduate Center and Lehman College.
