Deborah J Taranto is a native New Yorker, born
and raised in Brooklyn. After receiving her B.S. degree from
SUNY at Potsdam, she worked for several years as an account
executive at a top ten Public Relations firm in New York. She
successfully campaigned in five states for the passage of state
legislature in 1982 making it mandatory for infants to be
restrained in child car seats. She also helped launch the
infamous Jordache Jeans campaign. While raising her three
children she earned a M.S. degree from Wagner College and began
teaching English at private high schools on Staten
Island. Since 2002, Deborah holds the position of Adjunct
Professor of English at St. John’s University. In
addition to her teaching career, Deborah has a book of fiction
published with Authorhouse, The Land Of Crystals, an 11th
century story of knights and magic. She is looking for a
publisher for her second book, a memoir entitled, Every Day is
a Macy's Day or Surviving My Mom's Dementia. Her blog

She is a member of The International Women’s Writing Guild and
the National Association of Professional Women.
Besides being a writer, educator, event planner, mom and wife
Deborah’s additional claim to fame is her infamous cheesecakes, one
for every month of the year
