I came to St. John’s in November 2003 as a part time secretary
in the School of Education. By the following year, I was
offered a full-time position in the Dean’s office of St. John’s
College. Working in the Dean’s office afforded me numerous
opportunities to interact with faculty, students, and staff across
the campus community. The University’s staff development
program further enhanced my knowledge and ability to effectively
and efficiently serve the University community. I enrolled in
my first course in the summer of 2004 and soon discovered that I
loved being in classes and learning. In 2006, I received an
Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts.
I transferred over to the new Staten Island Writing Center in
September 2006. I was happy to take on the challenge of
assisting Harry Denny, the Writing Center Director, and Chris
Leary, Associate Director, with the start up of this new program on
the Staten Island campus. With Harry and Chris’ encouragement
and the inspiration and support I received daily from the writing
tutors and students, I was able to continue my studies and receive
a BS in Administrative Studies with a minor in Business in
2010. Currently, I am enrolled in the Masters program and
expect to receive an MBA in Executive Management by Spring
2013.
When the school is closed and midterms are over you can find me
with my family on the beach enjoying the sun and a good novel, one
not assigned for a class.
