As a senior graduating this fall, I hope to someday work as a
lawyer who represents those disenfranchised. I was a freelance high
school sports writer with the New York Daily
News for two years, and then interned with United States
Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, New York City Councilmember Letitia
James, non-profit organizations City Year and Common Cents, and
political action committee Demand Progress. This semester I will be
interning with President Bill Clinton’s non-profit organization,
Clinton Foundation. Next year, I hope to volunteer with AmeriCorps
in an inner city public school.
My tutoring philosophy is centered on alleviating the client’s
main concerns and providing my clients the confidence and
reassurance to be comfortable in writing what they want. My aim is
to ensure the client’s paper incorporates the client’s voice and
enough evidence to support their claim, or enough detail to enrich
their story. Every session will be just as fun as it is
educational, granted you come in with an open mind and a dose of
enthusiasm.
