My name is Katie and I am a Pharmacy major here at St. John’s
University. I studied abroad with both the Freshman Passport
Program and the Discover the World Program. Ever since, all I want
to do is travel and every year I try to take one big trip. In my
spare time, I play volleyball and coach beach volleyball during the
summer.
Here at the writing center you will see how diverse our staff is
as far as their background and their philosophy in their writing.
During a session, I never try to force my own style upon others.
Instead, I try to help the client better communicate their own
voice. Throughout the couple of semesters that I have been working
here, I have found that each person has a very unique style of
writing, and each person should be highlighting that individuality,
instead of just writing a set structure. Because of this, I
always let the student’s voice remain prominent throughout his or
her paper.
