My name is Michael O'Connell. I'm currently a senior from
Brooklyn, New York enrolled in the History B.A./M.A. program with
an Italian minor. Having been at the Writing Center for nearly 2
1/2 years, I've worked with students of every age and educational
background imaginable, from every corner of the globe, studying
everything from Toxicology to Corporate Security. This is the
biggest reason I love my job; it gives me the chance to mingle with
people very different from myself and gain perspectives I would not
be able to otherwise. In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling
and re-living my glory days as a mediocre high school athlete. I
hope to use my St. John's degree to go into teaching.
Writing Center Philosophy: I like to
approach each of my sessions carefully, as every student and their
assignment requires a unique level of attention, always different
from the last.
