Abstract
Recent research into the environmental and economic changes in land-use around the antique municipality of Bova Marina has highlighted the slow process of de-feudalization of the landscape. Analysis of data from the official castal records of the Napoleonic period highlight these changes and indicate that while land ownership has ostensibly shifted from feudal and ecclesiastical ownership, in fact they remain the major stakeholders in this municipality.
