Abstracts: My research and writing over the past dozen years or so has been largely focused on popular music.  In the past two years, I have published a book (Ray Davies: Not Like Everybody Else), articles (including “The Romantic Protest of Mid to Late 1960s Rock Music,” “Anti-Flag: Political Punk and Activism,” and “Documenting, Creating, and Interpreting Moments of Definition: Monterey Pop, Woodstock, and Gimme Shelter”), and various reviews.  As co-editor of Popular Music and Society (an international academic journal published 5 times annually), I review many articles on various types of popular music.  With anyone who is interested, I will gladly discuss my role as writer/editor, the use of my research and writing in the classroom, and trends in popular music scholarship.
