Abstract
This poster presents a first attempt to understand the
environmental, economic and social landscape around the town of
Bova (Reggio Calabria, Italy), during the early 1800s. An initial
analysis combines existing environmental and archaeological data
with archival material in order to investigate the nature, extent
and location of individual land holdings, types of forest
exploitation and the relationships between different social classes
in this now very degraded and seemingly empty landscape.
