What should I wear under my gown?
The temperature in Rome during July is very hot; therefore
you should wear light, comfortable semi-formal attire.
How do I order my cap and
gown?
You must order your cap and gown by visiting the Student Service
office no later than March 28, 2008.
When can I pick up my cap and
gown?
The Student Service office will distribute caps and gowns from July
9 through July 11, 2008. If you are unable to pick up your academic
attire during these times, you must make the proper
arrangements.
Do I need tickets for my guests to attend
the Commencement ceremony?
Yes. Each graduate will receive a maximum of 10 admit one tickets.
These tickets will be made available at the Student Service Office
from July 8 through July 17.
Where and when is the Baccalaureate
Liturgy? Do I need tickets?
The mass will be held in the Rome Campus chapel at 4:30 p.m.
It is open to all graduate candidates and their guests. No tickets
are required for admission to the mass.
What time should I arrive to the campus on
Commencement Day?
Graduates who will not attend the mass are to assemble in the
Library, in cap and gown, no later than 5 p.m. The procession will
begin promptly at 5:45 p.m.
What time should my guests
arrive?
Guests who will not attend the mass will be admitted to the
Auditorium at 5 p.m., one hour before the ceremony.
What do I do at the ceremony?
Graduates will be briefed in the Library and a faculty marshal will
line you up alphabetically according to college. At the start of
the procession, the faculty marshal will lead you into the
Auditorium and directly to your row and seat.
What about photos? Can our guests take
pictures?
Guests will not be permitted to take pictures near the stage or in
the procession/recession route. There will be a professional
photographer who will take a picture of each graduate on stage.
After the recession, a group photograph will be taken outside.
Photos will be made available online for students to purchase after
July 28.
When and where is the buffet
reception?
The buffet reception will be immediately following the ceremony. It
will take place under the Portico located near the Back Entrance of
the Auditorium. All graduates and their guests are invited to
attend.
When and where can I turn in my cap and
gown?
Caps & gowns should be turned in at the Student Service office
no later than 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2008.
When will I receive my
diploma?
Actual diplomas will be distributed by the Assistant Dean's office
after July 20, 2008 only to those graduates who have turned in
their caps & gowns and have no financial and/or academic
holds.
Can diplomas be mailed to me or picked up
by an authorized person?
Yes. You must notify your Academic Advisor in writing with an
updated mailing address. An authorized person may pick up diplomas
after having filed a Third Party Authorization form.
