synthesize material, making reference to at least three different
literary sources
- Compare/contrast more than one text
b) Literary works within cultural contexts
- In-class or take-home essay question asking for a close reading
of a literary text within multiple contexts (historical,
biographical, etc.)
- Embedded exam question(s) asking for definitions of key
concepts from literary analysis and literary history (epic, lyric,
realism, modernism, allegory, figurative speech, personification,
etc.)
