Issues Affecting America: Responsible Citizenship Fall 2008

We live in a time when global warming threatens the survival of every species on our planet. Children go hungry while we spend trillions annually to “fight” an oil war in the Middle East. This presentation examines the role traditional consumption plays in damaging our world, and offers conscious consumption — consumption with respect for the ecology of all living things — as a tool for resolving climate change.

Inspired by her TV show, Conscious Living, Bianca Alexander encourages audiences to utilize their collective spending power as conscious consumers and vote with their dollars to bring about social, environmental and world change.

Bianca Alexander is CEO of Conscious Planet Media, a production company specializing in original broadband TV programming and “green” events. She is also the Executive Producer and Co-Host of Conscious Living TV, a sustainable lifestyle show featuring the latest and greatest in “green” travel and design, eco-friendly fashion, conscious business and holistic healing. A formally trained Ivy-league attorney with degrees from Princeton and The University of Virginia Law School, Bianca has become a leading consumer advocate and spokesperson for sustainable living. As a TV personality, Bianca educates and empowers mainstream audiences around the world to live happier, healthier, more fulfilled lives.
