St. John's University Hosts the International and U.S. Women's Championships Chess Tournaments

Come and watch two invitational tournaments of great chess players. Grandmasters and International Masters from Albania, Indonesia, Israel, Serbia and Montenegro and the United States will compete in the

2004 New York International Tournament

2004 Women's Chess Championship
Simultaneously, the 2004 Women's Chess Championship will be conducted. The winner of the 2004 Women's Chess Championship will earn a place on the U.S. Olympic Team.

These tournaments are conducted under the direction of Dr. Frank Brady, International Arbiter of the World Chess Federation (FIDE) and biographer of Bobby Fischer.

"One of the surest ways of improving at chess is to study the games of the Masters."
