Good Wine and Good Friends: Alumni Get a Taste of Italy

July 30, 2012

Whether it’s bold, full-bodied or elegant, every bottle of wine boasts a unique and distinctive taste, and alumni and friends had the opportunity to try some of Long Island’s finest at a Taste of Italy on the North Fork.

Held at Diliberto Winery in Jamesport, over 50 alumni and friends enjoyed pasta, hors d’oeuvres and delicious wines as they reminisced with friends. Singer Tony Grant – formerly of the 1950s musical group the Fireflies – performed songs to create a fun and festive environment. Many of the alumni and friends who attended are members of The McCallen Society, a giving society comprised of donors who include St. John’s in their estate plans.

In addition to providing wine at this event, Sal Diliberto ’70L – the owner of Diliberto Winery – will also be providing wine for tasting at the 14th Annual Summer Concert and Barbeque, exclusively for members of The McCallen Society and The Loughlin Society.

If you’d like to learn more about joining The McCallen Society, please contact Susan Damiani ’87CBA, Director of Gift Planning, at (718) 990-7562 or e-mail at damianis@stjohns.edu.
