Biography

Dr. Robert Brasco is Executive Director of the Professional Development Center & Graduate Administrative Internship in the School of Education.  A graduate of New York College of Music, he received his MS, PD, and Doctoral Degrees from St. John’s University, with the specialization of Administration and Supervision.  He has held the positions of Superintendent, Senior Deputy Superintendent, District Supervisor of Early Childhood Education, Elementary School Principal, Middle School Principal and Assistant Principal.  In addition he has supervised many successful district wide programs such as Bright Beginnings, Super Start and Project WIN.  He has served on NYC Chancellor Rudy Crew’s Committee for Middle School Restructuring and as District Hearing Officer for all grievances. 

Dr. Brasco has been and Adjunct Associate Professor at St. John's University since 1990 and has also taught at Long Island University.  He has been a guest lecturer at the College of St. Rose, the College of New Rochelle and C.W. Post.  He has published articles for The School Administrator, The Journal of Cases in Educational Leadership and The Journal for the Council of Supervisors and Administrators.  He also has been cited in many educational texts (eg. Lunenburg, Fred, C. & Ornstein, Allan, C., Educational Administrator “Concepts and Practices” 4th edition. Thompson, Wadsworth 2004; Leiberman, M. & Geisert, G.
