Patrick P. McCabe has a Ph. D. in reading education from Hofstra University, and is associate professor of literacy education at the St. John’s University, Graduate School of Education.  He extensive experience includes: teaching reading in the New York City public schools at the elementary and secondary levels, teaching reading at the community college level, and teaching reading methods and theory at the undergraduate and graduate levels in addition to supervising a literacy program at the Riker’s Island jail system in New York City.

He is associate editor of Reading & Writing Quarterly: Overcoming Learning Difficulties, a peer reviewed professional journal that publishes articles focusing on evidence-based instructional practices for students who struggle with literacy task.
