Using Web-based Instructional Technology
to
Enhance Multicultural Instruction in the Urban
Classroom
This online course provides students with web resources for
implementing multicultural activities in the classroom. This online
course is an interdisciplinary (Literacy, Language other than
English and Social Studies) course that provides support for
teaching understanding of multicultural issues in the urban
environment. It uses the web as a simulation tool, lesson
plan resource, and communication tool. Participants develop
lessons based on the topic of the week (i.e., different
cultures in the urban setting, prejudice in the urban setting, and
stereotypes in our schools).
