On October 2-3, 2010, the Carey Center,
together with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA),
hosted the second annual
Securities Dispute Resolution Triathlon October 2-3, 2010, at
St. John's University's campus in lower Manhattan. Twenty-two
teams from 17 law schools around the country competed in this
unique event, which combines negotiation, mediation, and
arbitration in a single competition. One hundred experienced
neutrals from FINRA roster served as mediators, arbitrators, and
competition judges. Vemont won the Negotiation round, while
Quinnipiac won the Mediation round. Seton Hall rode its win
in the Arbitration round to the Overall Championship. Fordham
took home the peer-voted Advocate's Choice Award.
