Students participating in the Law School’s Rome Summer Program
have a unique opportunity to study international and comparative
law while exploring the historical, cultural and culinary delights
of the Eternal City.
Open to J.D. candidates from all U.S. law schools, students from
foreign law schools and foreign law graduates, the program is
taught by St. John’s Law faculty and this year will include courses
European Legal History
International Human Rights Law
To complement their classroom learning, students visit Italian
courts and other legal institutions and engage in activities and
events related to Roman art and history. The program is based at
St. John’s beautiful and centrally located Rome campus at Via
Marcantonio Colonna, 21, just a short walk north of Vatican
This year’s Rome Summer Program opens on Sunday, May 26, 2013.
Classes begin the next day and are held through June 21, Monday
through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Final exams will
be on June 24 and 25, 2013. Participants take a minimum of four and
a maximum of six credits.
