Professor Klauser is a senior partner of the law firm Brauneis Klauser Prändl, Vienna/Austria. He leads the firm’s dispute resolution and insolvency law practice group. Among his specialties are transnational litigation, multi-party litigation (often in the field of consumer law), and cross-border insolvency cases. Professor Klauser has been repeatedly appointed as Insolvency Administrator by the Commercial Court in Vienna, Austria.

He has written extensively in his fields of practice. Among his publications are Austria’s leading commentaries on Austrian Civil Procedure, European Civil Procedure (e.g., the Brussels Regulation), and the European Insolvency Regulation. He is also a co-author of the Austrian chapter of Broude, et al., Collier International Business Insolvency Guide.

Professor Klauser teaches Transnational Litigation and Insolvency at the Austrian Attorneys’ Academy, Vienna, and at the University of Vienna School of Law. From 1989 - 2007, he was an Adjunct Professor at the University of the Pacific/McGeorge School of Law, Sacramento, CA. Recently, Professor Klauser has been a guest speaker at NYU and Columbia University. In the fall semester of 2010, he was also a Visiting Foreign Scholar at Fordham University.

In 2007-08, Professor Klauser served as Co-Chair of the Section on Insolvency, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights (SIRC) of the International Bar Association (IBA). He continues to serve as an IBA delegate to the sessions of Working Group V (Insolvency Law) of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). Professor Klauser is also a member of the International Insolvency Institute.

Professor Klauser has taught Multi-National Mega Case Bankruptcy with Professor Broude.
