Housing in Rome

Housing and Living in Rome
Students may look for accommodations in Rome in different ways according to their needs and budget.

1. Students can look for an accomodation on their own. In Rome, there are plenty of bed and breakfast, residences or agencies/brokers offering apartments for rent for short stays. On the Internet students can find plenty of offers. Please note that, because June in Rome is “high season” we suggest to secure the housing arrangements around February/March. Prices of the apartments may vary according to location, dimension and amenities offered.

2. The Summer Program has a well established relation with two residences around the Rome Campus that offer every year from 15 to 20 studios or 1 bedroom apartments. Prices will vary from $850/900 (approx.) up to $2,500, per month and per person, with an average of $1,700. Generally, all but the least expensive accommodations offer air conditioning, kitchenette and most of the other amenities that U.S. students are accustomed to.

3.  Lastly, beginning this year, the recently remodeled Rome Campus offers rooms within the very St. John's building. Rooms vary in term of size, but generally there are 2 beds with no kitchenette. Prices will be provided upon request. More info available here.

Students can also seek assistance from the Director of the Summer Rome Program to find the best possible location in terms of amenities, close proximity to the Rome campus and reasonableness of price compared with the service offered by other providers.
