Professor Joseph J. Beard receives The Charles Dickens Award for Achievement by the Friends of Dickens New York Branch of the Dickens Fellowship.

On Saturday, February 5, 2005 Professor Joseph J. Beard was presented The Charles Dickens Award for Achievement by the Friends of Dickens New York Branch of the Dickens Fellowship.

Prof. Beard received the award in recognition of his contributions to the Dickens Fellowship such as lectures on various topics including Dickens copyright and the Dickens oration at the Rochester Cathedral in England in 2003. The award was given at a ceremony celebrating the anniversary of Charles Dickens birth.
