Linda M. Ryan has directed the Rittenberg Law Library for almost
ten years. She is also responsible for the law school’s
information technology initiatives and has been instrumental in the
development of its official website. Under her leadership, the
School of Law was named to Pre-Law Insider Magazine’s
Technology Honor Roll for its use of technology in the
classroom.
She taught Legal Research and Writing at New York Law School and
was a founding member of the School of Law’s Legal Research and
Writing Program. Professor Ryan has also taught an upper
level course in Advanced Legal Research and Legal Research I and II
to students in the St. John’s University M.L.S. program. She
is the author of the second edition of Legal Research and Law
Library Management (Law Journal Press), a leading title in the
field, and various articles on teaching legal research in law
school.
Professor Ryan currently serves as a member of the Executive
Committee of the Association of American Law School’s Section on
Libraries and Technology; Secretary/Treasurer of the American
Association of Law Libraries Academic Law Libraries Special
Interest Section, as well as Chair of its Placement
Committee; and a member of the Editorial Board of CALI – The
Center for Computer Assisted Legal Education. Professor Ryan
has also served as a member several ABA law school reaccreditation
site teams.
