Stephen Llano, Director of Debate and Assistant Professor in the
Department of Rhetoric, Communication, and Theater will lecture on
teaching and learning debate in Budapest, Hungary.
The invitation comes as part of
“Austro-Hungarian Debate Week” which involves students from both
North America and Europe competing in two tournaments – the other
being in Vienna – and a week of lectures, panel discussions, and
workshops on debating.
Dr. Llano will be joined by 4 undergraduate
St. John’s students for the competitions and the week of workshops.
They will debate against Europe’s finest debaters during the course
of the two tournaments – at least ten debates in total over the 10
