You are invited to support the annual "Making Strides
Against Breast Cancer" Walkathon which will take place on
Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Flushing
Meadows Corona Park in Queens; the Staten Island
location is at Clove
Lakes Park.
Since 1998, each year the St. John's campus comes alive with
activity as the fall semester starts and pink begins to pop up
everywhere. Our students and the St. John's University community
join in the effort to raise awareness and gain knowledge of
preventative measures against a deadly form of cancer that strikes
so many women and men — breast cancer.
The Office
of Community Relations, with the assistance of Student
Life, will be gearing up for this walk to fight
cancer. Many activities will be scheduled on campus and the major
event — the walk in Flushing Meadows Corona Park — will be held on
Sunday, October 21, 2012. Everyone is encouraged
to join in this year's efforts to raise funds for patient care,
research and educational endeavors by the American Cancer
Society (ACS).
