University Townhouse Apartments

The University maintains several townhouses just 1 mile from campus for use by School of Law students. The DePaul Townhouses are divided up into several 1, 2, and 3 bedroom furnished apartments complete with hardwood floors, kitchen and wireless internet. Each student will have a private bedroom and will share a common living area with one or two other students.  The DePaul Townhouses are University owned and regulated by the Office of Residence Life, the Residence Life Manual and the University Bulletin. Please keep in mind that these spaces are limited and may be secured by students who have paid both their seat and housing deposits in full. Students must also return a completed application and contract.  

Securing Placement in the DePaul Townhouses

The process to secure placement in the DePaul Townhouses is as follows: 

  1. Submit a $500 deposit (refundable until June 30, 2010)
    1. Via check or money order made payable to St. John’s University and sent to the Law School Admissions Office, 8000 Utopia Parkway, Queens, NY 11439.
    2. via credit card on your UIS account.
  2. Upon receipt of your deposit, an application and contract will be emailed to you. You must complete these forms and submit a hand-signed copy to the Residence Life Offices.
  3. Upon receipt of your hand-signed copy, the Residence Life Staff will place you in the DePaul Townhouses based on your preferences expressed on your application and on availability. You will be notified upon placement.

Please keep in mind that these spaces are limited and may be secured only by students who have paid both their seat and housing deposits in full. 

A Wait List will be maintained if deposits exceed the spots available.  Move-in occurs just before orientation in August. 

The DePaul Townhouses are available for a calendar year lease.  Move-in for students will occur on Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 10:00am to 2:00pm.  For an alternate date, please contact the Office of Residence Life.

DePaul Townhouses Description

Style: Townhouse apartment with shared kitchen and living room 

Availability: only law students may choose to be placed here.  Students are assigned to single bedrooms. 

Staff: One live-in professional staff member and one graduate assistant. 

Office Location: professional staff works out of Donovan Hall room C-10 on Queens campus 

Gender: Same sex by apartment 

Apartment amenities include:

  • 1 or 2 private bathrooms
  • 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms with desks, beds, dressers, closets
  • Full kitchen with gas stove, sink, cabinets, and full-size refrigerator
  • Spacious and modern living room with dining table, chairs, and couch/loveseat
  • Balcony with sliding glass door and blinds in second and third floor apartments
  • Stackable washer/dryer in most apartments
  • Dishwasher in most apartments
  • Wireless internet access throughout the apartment and cable TV in each room
  • Student-controlled heating and air-conditioning units in each bedroom and common area

Rates

The rates for all rooms in the DePaul Townhouses for the 2010-2011 academic year will be $11,650.  Summer rates are TBD.
