Program Requirements for Non-Thesis Option

- 12 credits in the major concentration
- 3 credits in Political Theory
- 6 credits in the minor concentration
- 9 credits in any field
In addition, students must present evidence of their
knowledge of a foreign language (normally either French or German
by passing the ETS examination or a reading course in the
appropriate language-for which no credit is given. Upon approval of
the department and the Dean, a language other than French or German
may be substituted if such substitution is deemed desirable because
of the nature of the student's special field. Under the guidance of
the mentor, the student must prepare a satisfactory thesis on a
subject in his/her field of concentration.
