Research Essay

The program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to display their competence in the historical/social scientific subject matter. In addition to evidence of knowledge of the subject matter, the research essay should manifest skills in teaching and evaluation. It is expected that students will select topics enabling them to apply their academic and practical learning to a specific problem related to their professional work.
Doctoral candidates must defend the research essay in a final oral examination before a committee of the faculty. It earns 6 credits.
