Internship

The teaching internship (HIS 905; 906) is a two-semester supervised teaching experience designed to enable the student to step confidently and competently into collegelevel teaching upon completion of the doctoral program. No student will be permitted to register for the internship unless she/he has successfully passed the qualifying examination.
Students who enter the program with permanent New York State certification (which requires a minimum of two years of full-time teaching) are exempt from this requirement, although they may elect to participate.
