Admission Requirements for the M.A. Degree
in Spanish
Applicants must possess a B. A. degree from an accredited
institution or be in the last semester of college and submit
official transcripts of all undergraduate and/ or any prior
graduate work. They must have completed at least 24 semester
hours of foreign languages, with 18 of these credits in Spanish
above the intermediate level with a minimum of a 3.0 index.
They must also have a 3.0 cumulative index or above.
Program Requirements
To meet the different needs of students, two options are
offered: the thesis option, recommended for those who wish to
pursue doctoral studies in Spanish, and the non-thesis option fir
those who consider the M.A. as a terminal degree. In both
options students must complete 33 credits. If the thesis
option is selected, six of these 33 credits are applied to thesis
research.
