Financial Aid

A limited number of Doctoral Fellowship (DF) and University Doctoral Fellowship (UDF) awards are available to qualified students.  Fellowship offers are made at the time of admission and are renewable through a second year of study dependent on satisfactory academic and work performance. Fellowship support may be continued through at least a third year of study on a half-time fellowship basis depending on funding availability.

Doctoral Fellowship and University Doctoral Fellowship awards require up to 18 hours of weekly service as a research assistant and provide a stipend of approximately $8,000 for the academic year and a full tuition waiver for the Fall and Spring semesters.  University Doctoral Fellowship (UDF) are first-year only awards that convert to a Doctoral Fellowship award in the second year of study.  The UDF award increases the level of fellowship support to include a tuition waiver for six additional credits in the summer following the first year of study.  Half-time doctoral fellowships provide half as much support and require up to nine hours of service as a research assistant.  A limited number of Minority Student Scholarships are also available to qualified minority students and offer a full tuition waiver for the Fall and Spring semesters with no additional work requirement. Additional information concerning other types of financial aid and scholarship awards is contained in the Graduate Bulletin.
