Criminology as a Career
Our MA program is designed to prepare students for a wide
array of new career possibilities, current career advancements, as
well as provide a solid liberal arts foundation for further
education. Our graduates will be prepared to:
- enter law school
- enter a doctoral program for careers in academia
- work as a research/policy analyst for governmental and
non-governmental agencies
- teach in a community college setting
- pursue further scientific training to engage in forensic
science investigation
- enter federal law enforcement as agents within the FBI, CIA,
Homeland Security, ATF, DEA, Marshal, INS, Customs, etc.
- work for city or state government in any number of law
enforcement or corrections capacities
- work as a private investigator
Research Assistantships
Applicants with a strong academic background and Graduate
Records Examination (GRE) scores are invited to make application
for a departmental Research Assistantship. The GRE is
required for consideration.
