Dr. Wiseheart’s research focuses on understanding the complex relationship between language development and cognitive processing abilities in children with dyslexia. She is particularly interested in understanding lexical representation and retrieval processes which affect fluency in reading, speaking and, perhaps, even mathematic calculation. She brings to her teaching and research over 17 years of clinical experience providing therapy for school-aged children with reading, language, and learning disabilities. She is a member of the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading (SSSR), International Dyslexia Association (IDA), and American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).
