INITIATIVES@STJOHNS.EDU Brief summary: This presentation will focus on a discussion of requirements and basic ways that a psychologist can protect him/herself. We will discuss areas where psychologists are most vulnerable and strategies to follow and how/where to find answers to licensing and ethical questions. In this context we will discuss specific real examples related to violations and the specific guidelines related to these violations. We will speak about what state laws have primacy over ethical guidelines the specific NYS laws and ethical laws that are likely to create confusion….Questions such as Dr. Kathleen Doyle is the Executive Secretary for the State Board of Psychology and for the Clinical Laboratory Technology Professions in New York State. As such she administers the Psychoanalytic/Psychotherapy Review Unit for the Department. Additionally she has worked in private and in a group practice; as part of the clinical staff at St. Vincent's Hospital; and for the Huntington School District on Long Island.
