Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam -
After spending her first full day in Vietnam, junior Elizabeth
Austin checked in with RedStormSports.com to talk about her initial
thoughts on the team’s trip.
RedStormSports.com: What were your
first thoughts when you found out the team would be traveling to
Vietnam?
Elizabeth Austin: When we found out we
were going to Vietnam, I got really excited. This a great
opportunity to experience another culture and to play volleyball
internationally against a bunch of different countries.
RSS: Now that you have arrived in
Vietnam, what are your thoughts?
EA: I had no idea what to expect at
first. It is very different from any other culture I’ve
experienced. It is the food, the living style, the different kinds
of businesses and so much more.
RSS: What have you enjoyed the most
so far?
EA: Experiencing the different types
of food and the way they eat their meals. There are a lot of dishes
that are presented to you in one meal and everything is served
family style.
RSS: What has been the hardest part
to adjust to?
EA: The humidity but that is only
because we haven’t had this kind of weather yet in New York. It
takes a while to get used to and to get used to playing in it as
well.
