February 24, 2009

The School of Education will be hosting a series of Saturday Literacy Workshops on our Manhattan, Staten Island and Oakdale campuses that should be of interest to both educators and parents.  This is part of a faculty driven program to address issues of concern to the community and to shine a spotlight on each of our campuses.

Teach Every Child to Read workshops will be held on our Manhattan (March 7), Staten Island (April 25) and Oakdale, Long Island (May 2) campuses.

Dr. Rita Dunn, Dr. Joanne Marie Robertson, and Dr Brett Elizabeth Blake will provide a series of sessions on language/literacy learning and differentiated reading approaches that promises to of considerable value to both K-8 educators as well as parents who want to play an expanded role in their child’s literacy development. A light breakfast and lunch will be served. There is a $125 registration fee for each event with a discount available to group enrollment.
