Our Economics and Finance Department challenge M.B.A. students
with a two-week accelerated seminar course in London. Eco 300/Fin
300, Seminar in Global Finance and Economics, has two important
components: lecture and discussion, and field trips to London
offices of leading organizations, banks and institutions. The
seminar explores the UK economy, London's role as a business and
financial center, London as a gateway to continental Europe, and an
array of other special topics.
Classes are held at the London School of Economics. The field
visits provide students with strong real-world content, plus a
comparison base between London and New York as world business and
financial centers. Students will also gain a perspective on the
business activities that are serviced in London.
Major multinational and national companies host our group for a
half-a-day each, with presentations by top executives and a guided
tour of company facilities. In previous years, we have visited
Barclays (BZW), J.P. Morgan Chase and Co. and the European Bank for
Reconstruction and Development.
